A Taste of Spain London

Venue – London, Regent Street, 6th June, 12 noon to 7pm.

London’s Regent Street will be turned into a giant showcase of Spanish culture for the 5th consecutive year on Sunday 6th June 2010.

Flamenco Dancers

More than 8 Spanish regions will be represented with regional food & wine tasting, giant paellas, medieval food markets, flamenco dancers, fashion & art displays and live music & entertainment.

There will also be sporting activities, including an F1 Pit Stop Challenge, Wii Tennis, Speed Shot Analysis, the Longest Golf Putt, basketball and football.

A Taste of Spain in Liverpool

A Taste of Spain 2010 festival, supported by The Spanish Tourist Office will take place in Liverpool for the first time on 10th and 11th of April.
Eight participants from Spain, including Andalucía, Fuerteventura, Galicia, Lanzarote, Madrid, Region of Valencia, PortAventura and Salou, plus Jet2.com & Jet2holidays.com will be showcasing everything they have to offer from their culture and lifestyle to the regions gastronomy.

Events and Attractions

Flamenco Dancers

Main Stage Events
Flamenco dancing and singing, modern Celtic fusion music and Spanish pop-rock.
Food
A large Paella for up to 1,000 people and cooked on the spot.  Cheese samples, wine and sherry.
Key Attractions
Train, and ride top thoroughbreds with a racing horse simulator and try your luck on the tombola – Jet2.com are giving away 10 flights to Spain.
Football Zone
The Spanish Tourist Office will also be taking part in the festival atmosphere with their own ‘Football Zone’ where the public can take part in goal scoring games and a speed shot simulator in a bid to win the great prizes on offer, including Official Spanish National Team Home Shirts. John Farnworth, crowned the World Freestyle Champion, will be performing football tricks on both days.

Participants
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura – a surf simulator to test surfing skills.
Salou – enjoy samples of rich olive oils and wines from Costa Daurada Region.
PortAventura – the theme park will have their Woody Woodpecker character for photographs with the kids.
Madrid – cheese, olives and wine tasting from the country’s capital.
Andalucia – enjoy the Peña de Camarón de la Isla Flamenco Band and traditional sherry tastings.
Region of Valencia  – watch the region cook up a storm with a giant paella, serving 1,000 portions (1pm each day).
City of Valencia – Train and ride top thoroughbreds with a racing horse simulator to join in with the spirit of the Aintree Races.  Visitors will have the chance to win two tickets for the Global Champions Tour Horse Racing with two nights’ accommodation in Valencia.
Galicia – the band ISGA Collective will play traditional Galician music with a modern twist. Galicia will also be offering tasting of traditional liquors.
