Barcelo Asia Gardens

The Barcelo Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa has been selected to host the 2010 Institute of Travel & Tourism (ITT) conference. The announcement was made at the recent ITT President’s Annual Dinner held at The Dorchester Hotel in London.

The conference will take over the hotel exclusively from 7-9 June 2010, welcoming around 400 of the travel industry’s top executives.

Location
The hotel is located on the slopes of Sierra Cortina, 150 metres above sea level, offering fantastic views over the Costa Blanca. Close by are two 18 hole golf courses and three theme parks – Terra Mítica, Terra Natura and Aqua Natura.
The hotel is 2 km away from the beach, 6 minutes away from the Campomanes marina, 30 minutes away from Alicante airport and about an hour from Valencia airport.

Activities

Classes offering Yoga and Pilates to help you boost your mental flexibility, clarity and agility and raise the circulation of the spinal fluid, improving the flow of your body, mind and energy. 

Stretching exercises, several days a week. Stretching should be part of your everyday life. It reduces muscle tension and makes the body feel more relaxed. It helps coordination, allowing greater freedom and ease of movement, as well as many other beneficial properties.

 Jogging first thing in the morning for waking the body up.
 
As well as these sports and health activities at the Barceló Asia Gardens, guests can also try activities such as:
Cocktail-making demonstration in one of the hotel’s bars.
Bike excursions once a week along the special cycle tracks in the hotel’s surroundings, through stunning landscapes in the Sierra Cortina and Terra Mítica region. During the rest of the week, bikes are available to hire complete with accessories, including helmet, padlock, pump, etc.
For guests who prefer quiet afternoons there are card tournaments, language courses, decorating using serviettes, etc.
At weekends there is live music with professional musicians. During the winter season there is a special apartment for children, where there is on offer on Fridays and Saturdays:
Face-painting and Make-up, mini-Buffet for over 5 year olds and a mini disco.

7 outdoor swimming pools (2 of which are heated), fitness centre, hairdressing Salon, various jogging circuits to suit all ages and all levels of endurance. 
A heliport is available for transporting guests in helicopters and for organising private trips.  
 
Spa

This includes heated indoor swimming pool (with access to outdoor area), Turkish Bath, Outdoor Jacuzzi, 7 outdoor stilt houses with Tatamis for traditional Thai massages, solarium Terrace, relaxation area with a herbal tea service.  

Treatment Area  
This includes 6 indoor double rooms, all with a fully equipped bathroom and bathtub, 2 equipped with Tatamis  and the other 3 with Balinese beds and easy chairs forFoot Massages.

A Convention Centre with an area of 3,500 square metres, and the following facilities:
An open-plan hall with an area of 1000 m² and a ceiling height of 6.5 metres, fitted out with the latest technology and ready to accommodate events of all kinds. The hall can be sub-divided into a maximum of 6 smaller rooms.
An independent venue in the form of an open-plan hall with an area of 325 m² and ceiling heights ranging from 3.5 to 5 metres. This hall can be sub-divided into up to 3 smaller rooms. 
A terrace with a clear area of 800 square metres for organising banquets and events out in the open air. 
 
Very near the hotel are two 18-hole golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus.
