Levante Beach (also known as Sunrise Beach) is one of two beaches in the resort of Benidorm on Spain’s Costa Blanca, just over 20 miles from Alicante. Close to Benidorms town centre, Levante Beach has a long promenade lined with cafes and bars which is lively throughout the day and at night.

At night you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to entertainment as the areas discos, pubs, clubs, cabaret venues, comedy clubs, casino and much more come to life. For those seeking quieter evenings there are lots of restaurants serving different types of food where you can enjoy some fine cuisine and have fun just ‘people watching’.

The gently shelving golden sandy beach is extremely safe for children, hence the resort of Benidorm is very popular with families. There are also organised beach activities and entertainment on offer for children at the beach which is more than a mile long.

Paragliding, waterskiing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, scuba diving and

snorkelling are some of the many watersports on offer here at Levante Beach. For those looking for something a bit different the unique sport of cable-skiing is also available here. Along with the many watersports on offer there are also diving rafts and slides for some fun in the sea.

Apart from the beautiful beach here families can enjoy a great day out at one of the areas theme parks – Terra Mitica, Mundomar and Aqualandia. Other day trips include a visit to Algar Falls and Canelobre Caves. Also on offer locally is golf, an aquarium, botanical gardens, safari park, boat and catamaran trips, go-karting, mountain biking,

This review has been supplied to us by our reader Tracy Allen who went to Benidorm with 5 friends on a  hen weekend.

“Benidorm’s the place to spend you hen party. It didn’t cost us an arm and a leg so if you are looking for cheap holidays Flamingo’s in Benidorm is the place to go. We arrived on the friday afternoon and came home on the sunday night and it was party, party, party all the way. We didn’t need any of the entertainment at the hotel as there was so much to do in the town, other people staying at the hotel said the entertainment wasn’t very good but i can’t comment on that.

Our rooms were all nice, large and clean and the staff were really helpfull, telling us the best places to go in the evenings.
We went all inclusive which was great as we didn’t have to find any money for food and had plenty to drink (free) in the hotel bar before hitting the town. The food was really good, a lot better than we expected. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and would definitely go back and stay at the same hotel.”

There are 5 main themes to the park and these are based on the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean Sea – Greece, Egypt (Land of the Pharaohs), Rome, Iberia and the Mediterranean Islands. There are some wild and amazing rides and new rides are added each year, there are also plenty of great shows, with over 80 different shows each day,  at open air or prepared places for special scenic tricks.

Very cleverly designed the Terra Mitica has something for people of all ages and for young children there are small replicas of the adult rides.

benidormBenidorm is moving to adventure sports to try and attract new young British tourists. The Town Hall says it wants to open new lines of business with the travel companies given that the sales for next summer are already closed.

The new idea was launched by the local councillor for tourism, Manuel Cabezuelos, who was giving his opinions of the World Travel Market held earlier this week in London.

Benidorm tourist department had meetings in London with Thomson on the adventure sports idea, with rambling, paragliding and bungee jumping among the activities on offer.

Manuel Cabezuelos also met in London with the U.K. Police Federation, a body with 140,000 members, and invited them to choose Benidorm for their holidays.
